Jodie Hill

Guest’s story:

Jodie trained as a barrister and cross qualified as a solicitor, she is the founder and Managing Director of law firm, Thrive Law, whose HQ is in Leeds City Centre. Jodie specialised in employment law throughout her career, so has a keen understanding of this complex area and all HR related issues.

Jodie set up a fixed fee HR package scheme for businesses to work closely with them as their HR partner and has worked with a range of corporate clients in this capacity.

Jodie also has a passion for helping encourage understanding around mental health, and has a strong desire to help end stigma surrounding mental health to create a happier, healthier workforce.

This can be seen in her campaign to make mental health first aiders mandatory in the workplace-which her campaign has been featured on Sky News, BBC, The Times, The Law Society Gazette, Yorkshire Post, and Yorkshire Legal. Jodie’s campaigns have been recognised by many, and recently led her to be nominated for Woman Lawyer of the Year and shortlisted for Gazette Legal Personality of the Year 2018 at The Law Society Excellence Awards 2018.

As a result of her work around mental health in the workplace she was honoured with a fellowship with the Royal Society for Public Health earlier this year.

Jodie is also asked to comment in national media (TV radio print and online) on a range of employment law issues. She is the WINNER of InsideOut Advocacy Award in 2020 for her contributions to mental health.

Episode 1 of ‘The Form Guide’ with Jodie Hill, Managing Director of Thrive Law; Chairperson for "This is me" in Yorkshire and winner of the InsideOut Advocacy Award 2020. Jodie founded her legal business with wellbeing at the heart. We love this concept and as we move towards the next normal it will be really interesting to see how many businesses choose to do this.
