Drivers of Form - February 2022

Every month, we dedicate time to reflect on how the FormScore community feels, what the main drivers are, and think of ways to support you.

Here’s what we observed:

During the last week of February, the FormScore community experienced its lowest weekly average score since the app was released. We believe this reflects what is currently happening in the world. It shows the level of concern and anxiety everyone experiences and how concerned we are for those who are currently going through horrific events.

We like to think that there’s always something small we can do to help improve our form. However, sometimes events we have no control of, have such a big impact on our form and there’s little we can do to control the event itself.

So what can we do to help ourselves and our immediate community with low form?

  • The political and social situation in the world, whether that is a pandemic or armed conflict, can challenge everyone’s wellbeing, so let’s try to be there for each other. Let’s help lift each other up.

  • Reach out to those we care about and encourage them to share their concerns.

  • Make sure we still practice self-care and invest time in the things that keep us well, whether that’s our exercise regime or connecting with others.

  • Keep talking about how we feel.

The FormScore insights show that the challenges the world faces could be even more prevalent than the effect of the pandemic and lockdowns. They have a real impact on our wellbeing. There is uncertainty, fear, sadness and loss.

But there’s also empathy - sensing other people’s emotions and imagining what they might be feeling. And compassion; offering support, and helping to alleviate suffering in any way we can.

More resources and support:

  • If you are concerned about your own mental health, please remember professional help is available through the NHS (UK only resource).

Drivers with the most impact on Form

Here, we look at the drivers with the highest *trend, meaning that these drivers boosted or lowered our form the most. (*Trend = direction of movement when the driver is selected.)

  • Travel, Connections and Exercise boosted our form the most. This is a reminder that spending time with loved ones and exercising has the power to lift our form. (Note that although Travel had the biggest boosting effect, it was logged the last times.)

  • The data also shows that Stress ManagementHealth and Finances, brought our form down the most.

    • To prevent stress, try to prioritise breaks in the day that keep you well. Don't sacrifice those moments of recovery because of busy-ness. To improve performance, we need to dedicate time for recovery first.

    • If ill-health drains your form here is a  list of tips to help you keep your mind well when your body is struggling.

    • And finally, can any of these tips help you improve your financial wellness?
