How are you today? The ‘today’ bit is important. It implies a sense of immediacy. It also implies that I'm concerned about the answer and I'm keen to actually hear how you are.

So how are you today, with a score out of 10?

Because if we start to reflect on this number, we can communicate it, but we can also try and influence it. And this is where the magic happens.
